Nasser Malek Motiee: Nasser Malek Motiee (April 28, 1930 – May 24, 2018) was an Iranian actor and director active before the 1979 Revolution. After the revolution, his artistic career, like those of his contemporaries Mohammad Ali Fardin and Behrouz Vossoughi, faced obstacles, and he only appeared in two films. Malek Motiee, post-revolution until his death, was engaged in professions such as selling pastries and working as a real estate consultant. In addition to mainstream Iranian films (commonly referred to as "Filmfarsi"), Malek Motiee also acted in films by different directors such as Ali Hatami, Zakaria Hashemi, Masoud Kimiai, Reza Mirlohi, and Houshang Kavousi.

Early Life: Nasser Malek Motiee held a diploma in physical education from Tehran Teachers College and worked as a physical education teacher in Tehran's elementary schools before entering the film industry. He began his career in the cinema by playing a brief role in the movie "Variat-e Bahari" directed by Parviz Khatibi in 1949. Malek Motiee gained popularity with his role in "Vilgari" (1952) by Mehdi Rais-Firooz. After that, he continued his career in acting, theater, and film dubbing.

Artistic Career: Before the Revolution: Nasser Malek Motiee's career in cinema began with a small role in the movie "Variat-e Bahari." However, it was his role in "Vilgari" (1952) that brought him widespread recognition and marked the start of his successful career. His notable performances in "Gerdab" (1953), the first color film in Iranian cinema, and "Ghaflat" (1954) further solidified his status as a leading actor.

In the following years, Malek Motiee starred in numerous films, including "Bazgasht-e Zindagi" (1957), "Aroos-e Farari" (1958), "Talsom-e Shekaste" (1960), "Doshman-e Zan" (1960), "Do Ghooloo" (1960), "Aval Heykal" (1961), "Amoo Norouz" (1962), and "Asl-o Pesar" (1963). During the 1960s, he continued to collaborate with various directors, delivering remarkable performances in films such as "Bani Adam" (1961), "Mardi ke Gooft Ayatollah" (1963), and "Zamin-e Sukhteh" (1966).

Malek Motiee's portrayal of characters began to change in the 1970s, and he embraced more diverse roles. He acted in films like "Shab Neshini Dar Jahanam" (1977), "Sarbedaran" (1976), "The Malekian Square" (1975), and "Gavaznha" (1974). His performances showcased his versatility as an actor, and he successfully navigated various genres.

After the Revolution: Following the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Malek Motiee faced challenges in continuing his artistic pursuits. The changing cultural landscape and restrictions on the film industry limited his opportunities. However, he managed to appear in two films, "Be Hamin Sadegi" (1990) and "Gavkhooni" (1992), directed by Ali Hatami.

Despite the challenges, Malek Motiee remained an iconic figure in Iranian cinema, and his contributions to the industry were widely recognized. His acting style, often characterized by raising his eyebrows and distinctive gestures, left a lasting impression on audiences.

Nasser Malek Motiee passed away on May 24, 2018, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances and significant contributions to Iranian cinema.
